The Midlands Ski-Boat Club is more than a fishing club, it’s a tightly knotted family
Midlands Ski-Boat Club is based in Pietermaritzburg KwaZulu-Natal and has over 170 members. Midlands is a family-orientated Club offering membership for men, ladies and juniors.
Calendar
Midlands hosts at least four outings for Club members during the year. The trip to Cape Vidal in February every year is a very popular outing bringing many of the Midlands family together for fishing as well as fun.

Monthly Meetings
Club members meet on the second Thursday of every month at the Alan Wilson Shellhole Moth Club. 5 Alan Paton Ave PMB. The gate is situated between the Sasol Garage and the Eye Hospital. Each meeting offers a different presentation from tackle talks to cooking demonstrations and a lot more. We get together for a bring and braai supper after the talk.
Annual Membership fees are as follows:
Once off Joining Fee: R250.00
Annual Members Subs Boat Owner Fee: R1500.00
Annual Members Subs Non Boat Owner Fee: R750.00
Junior’s Membership Fee: R250.00
Second Boat Fee: R200.00
Membership subs are due on the 1st of October annually and are subject to annual review.

The category R/E courses are run on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
Category C courses are scheduled once we have 5 or more candidates.

MIDLANDS SKIBOAT CLUB INTERCLUB NOMINATION FORM
INTERCLUB RULES:
MSC has decided to subsidise a maximum of 3 inter-clubs throughout the year with the individuals partaking to pay a 20% contribution towards the full entry amount divided amongst the team, this will need to be paid 2 weeks before the interclub competition.

Boat Inspections
MSC Boats:
This is held on an annual basis on the 1st weekend in November.
KZN and SR Boats:
This is done by the Midlands Safety Officer on an ongoing basis.

Cost of KZN Boat Inspection R650.00
For any boat inspection, the following documents must be provided:
- Existing COF
- Colour photo of craft
- Copy of ID
- Copy of Skippers ticket
- 12-page document for the correct category (see below)

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I become a member if I don't have a boat?
Yes indeed! Our membership is open to anyone who shares our love for deep-sea fishing.
Do I need to be experienced at deep-sea fishing to join the club?
Our members range from beginners to very experienced.
Do I have to be a member to do my skippers training?
Skippers training courses do not require you to be a member of our club.
Do I need to be a member to get my boat inspection done and sea-worthy certificate?
Boat inspections and certifications do not require you to be a member of our club.
